Wow! Today we went on our very first field trip as a homeschooling family. It was a huge success! It was such a neat feeling to go to the registration table and tell them our school name, and there it was, our very own registration packet.
We went to Allison Woods Living History in Statesville, NC. There is a War Reenactment there this weekend. Today was "School Days." All the tents and war camps were set up, and we were able to visit so many stations to learn about the French and Indian War, Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I and II, and Vietnam!
We all had a great time. The kids are looking forward to blogging about this trip in their creative writing assignments next week!
